Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CVTuner website and services (the "Service") operated by CVTuner ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To access the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Description of Service

CVTuner provides AI-powered resume tailoring, cover letter generation, match scoring, and career vault management. The Service uses artificial intelligence to process your career data and generate optimized application materials. AI-generated content should be reviewed by you before use — we do not guarantee that generated content is error-free or suitable for any particular application.

4. Your Content & Data

• You retain full ownership of all personal data and career content you upload to the Service.
• By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service (including transmitting data to AI providers for processing).
• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you upload. Do not upload content that infringes on third-party rights.
• You can export or delete your data at any time through your Profile settings.

5. AI Processing Consent

By using the Service, you explicitly consent to your career data (resume content, job descriptions) being transmitted to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Google Gemini) for processing. These providers operate under Data Processing Agreements and do not use your data for model training. You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account.

6. Subscription & Payments

• The Service offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription.
• Premium subscriptions are billed monthly ($4.99/month) or annually ($47.99/year) through our payment processor.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Profile settings or the payment provider's customer portal. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at support@cvtuner.com for refund requests.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by CVTuner and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your personal content. The tailored CVs and cover letters generated by the Service are yours to use freely.

9. Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will result in job interviews, offers, or any specific outcome.
• We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before submitting it to employers.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CVTuner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or employment opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through your Profile settings. Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CVTuner operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. For significant changes, we will provide notice via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
